Job Description
In this hands-on role, you’ll help oversee daily kitchen production operations, assist with cooking, menu planning and food ordering, and ensure an exceptional dining experience for our residents and staff. You’ll also support scheduling, payroll processes, and step in wherever needed to keep the kitchen running smoothly. In this role, you will report directly to the Director of Food and Nutrition Services.
   
Major tasks include
  • Supports daily kitchen operations, production, scheduling, timely meal service and customer satisfaction
  • Supervises and works alongside team members in the kitchen on a regular basis, mentor and train new cooks, this position requires flexibility with scheduling to meet operational needs and the on-call program
  • Assists in managing a 4-week rotating menu, including therapeutic and modified diets
  • Helps coordinate food and supply ordering, track inventory, and support budgeting efforts
  • Coordinates meals for events, special occasions, and gatherings
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards
         

Required Experience
Previous food service/kitchen leadership experience, hands-on cooking experience for large scale production, strong organizational and leadership skills, ability to thrive in a hands-on, fast-paced environment, Serv-Safe certification (or willing to obtain), building a team
         
Required Education
Culinary training, food management training, CDM/CFPP
         
Salary
$47,840 - $52,000 (hourly $23-$25/hr) based on experience, longevity in nutrition/culinary field, certifications
