It is a unique organization in that no stock has ever been issued, nor can be issued in the future. Since there are neither owners nor stockholders, any money generated in excess of operational funds is dedicated by law and resolution of the Board of Directors to perpetual use for improving health care delivery to the people served by Sweetwater Hospital Association. Sweetwater Hospital Association is located in rural East Tennessee and serves parts of Meigs, McMinn, Roane, Loudon and all of Monroe County. Job Description

POSITION:  DIETARY MANAGER
FULL TIME:  Day Shift
POSITION SUMMARY:
•    Demonstrates competency in providing food service and nutrition care to patients in each stage of life
•    Maintains sanitary foodservice environment via monitoring temperatures of equipment and food, cleanliness of kitchen and equipment and generally protecting food in all phases of storage and service.
•    Manages equipment use and maintenance.
•    Develop work assignments for employees and supervises/monitors effectiveness of the work done
•    Assists Dietitian and or/Department Director in training employees, instructing workers in method of performing their duties properly.
•    Purchase, store and receive foods following established standards or policies.
•    Participate in multidisciplinary conferences or patient care conferences as assigned.
•    Utilizes standard nutrition care procedures approved by the Registered Dietitian, including identifying nutrition risks and appropriate referrals to the Registered Dietitian.
•    Calculate nutrient intake for Calorie Counts under the guidance of the Registered Dietitian.
•    Visit and interview patients for food preferences, perform meal rounds, and document food intake as needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Associate’s or higher degree in food service management preferred.  
Certification as a dietary manager, or certification as a food service manager preferred. Minimum 2 years’ experience in food service management. Prior experience in healthcare food service preferred.
