Job Description
Marycrest Manor is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Certified Dietary Manager to lead our dietary services. The purpose of your job is to be a direct assistant for the food and nutrition needs of our residents. You are therefore part of the management team responsible for the overall well-being of the department and those whom the department serves. The Food Services Manager is responsible for managing and supporting the Dietary staff in their daily function, the planning and organization of the department, and insuring the implementation of all directives, policies, and procedures.
Duties
- Required to be on-site five days a week for eight hours per day to supervise department operations.
- Manage the procurement of food, supplies, and equipment from approved vendor/ suppliers. All capital purchases require the approval of the Administrator.
- Recruit, interview, motivate, train and evaluate staff members.
- Supervise, train, coach, counsel, and terminate, when necessary, staff members who report to him/her directly or indirectly according to established procedures.
- Ensure food preparation for optimal nutrition sensitive to the needs of the Residents. Maintain standards of emergency supplies according to regulations. Rotate supplies to prevent expiration.
- Provide meals that are nutritional, appealing and age-appropriate; creates or ensures posting of monthly menus according to state and federal guidelines for various levels of care.
- In the absence of Dietary staff, the Food Service Manager is responsible for performing all necessary duties associated with those positions (e.g. Cook, Dishwasher and Dietary Aide).
- Manage department’s resources in an efficient manner and controls departmental costs within budgetary guidelines.
- Implement cost containment measures for all areas of the operation.
- Manage the department according to regulatory guidelines, i.e. OSHA, Title 22 and DHS Survey requirements.
- Conduct training and in-service on a quarterly basis to educate staff; hold staff meetings at least every other month
- Develop and monitor Quality Assurance programs for the various service areas of the department.
- Maintain and review records required by the Department of Health and statistical as well as other department reports submitted by the Supervisors according to predetermined published schedules. Prepared subsequent reports for Administration as required. QAPI reports.
- Attend all meetings and in-services required by this position.

- Be knowledgeable and follow all safety procedures and regulations established in the employee handbook and other policies.
Required Experience
Minimum 3 years experience
Required Education
Bachelors Degree in food or hospitality/management or other related field
Salary
$29.48 - $32.00
